Working on it

On to about 17 pages in on this story. Things are going strong right now. Hardest part is trying to get the emotions and thoughts of the female characters out. Trying to make someone just being friendly to look like it's flirting when it really isn't. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

  1. Have a friend, sister or cousin, female, who is not interested in you at all, flirt with you in a platonic way (if that is possible). Write down details, how she moves her head, her eyes, how she smiles, etc. Sometimes I think you need to actually see something before you can write about it. That is why many writers are people watchers. Go to a coffee shop, or just hang out on a park bench and watch people, jot down notes, snippets of conversation, descriptions. This is helpful when you later go to develop characters.
